LCD's

LCD’s continue to evolve and improve.

4K resolution is commonplace with larger commercial screens and with advancements in LED backlighting, color balance and power consumption.

LCD’s last longer and deliver greater visual impact.

While landscape presentations have been the norm, portrait displays are becoming more commonplace, especially in pedestrian environments.

Glass (screen) sizes continue to increase along with alternative, non-traditional configurations and formats. The end result is new, exciting use cases for LCD’s as shelf displays, digital art and point of sale applications.

Outdoor LCD’s offer numerous challenges, especially in hotter, southern climates where prolonged, direct sunlight exposure creates significant solar loading on the LCD. This along with extreme changes in temperature and humidity place even more stress on the LCD, the enclosure and the internal component parts.

To ensure longevity and optimum in field performance, it’s critical that heat, moisture and sunlight exposure be managed effectively. Doing this requires a properly designed thermal management system that incorporates heat syncs, local dimming and IR/UV coatings.

Our LCD manufacturing partners are thermal experts and we specialize in deploying screens in extremely challenging environments.
