Abstract Background

HARDWARE

LED and LCD display technologies are converging rapidly and for most deployments, there are countless hardware options available.

Before deciding on a display format and making a hardware selection you need to understand the performance parameters of each product type. It’s also vital that you understand how the audience views and interacts with these displays.

Once these steps are complete, you can determine how these deliverables align with your deployment objectives.

LCD’s

Historically LCD’s have been limited by two critical components. Screen configuration and size.

The 16:9 format has been the standard in the industry for decades but that’s no longer the case.

While landscape presentations have been the norm, Portrait displays are becoming more commonplace.

While glass (screen) sizes continue to increase, manufacturers are becoming more proficient at cutting LCD panels into different sizes and shapes.

From square displays for visual art, round displays for specialty applications and elongated displays for transit, the range of product types and applications continues to expand.

We have relationships with custom LCD manufacturers and specialize in deploying non-traditional screens and formats for a wide range of venues and applications.

Outdoor LCD deployments are extremely challenging as extreme changes in temperature and humidity place significantly more stress on the LCD, the enclosure and the component parts.

In order to ensure visibility, longevity and optimum performance, it’s essential that heat, moisture and direct sunlight exposure be managed correctly.
